La Mano
La Mano is a memorial to Swedes who died during the Spanish Civil War, most of whom fought in the Thälmann Battalion. It is located on Katarinavägen in Södermalm, in central Stockholm. The monument was designed by artist Liss Eriksson and created together with sculptor George Lange. Completed in 1977, the work is made of granite. A stone map of Spain, also made by Göran Lange, stands on the ground beside the statue and shows the most important battles.
