Freedom Monument in Tbilisi
Freedom Monument in Tbilisi, commonly known as the Statue of Saint George, is a monument in Tbilisi, Georgia, dedicated to the freedom and independence of the Georgian nation. It was inaugurated in 2006 in the city’s central square and rises to 35 meters high. The monument is made of granite and gold, and it is easily accessible from anywhere in the city. The current 5.6-meter statue is made of bronze and covered in gold. It was gifted to the city by its creator, Georgian sculptor Zurab Tsereteli.
