Reksio Monument

Reksio Monument is a fountain-monument in the centre of Bielsko-Biała, located on the square between 11 Listopada Street and S. Stojałowskiego Street, on the bank of the Biała River. It was unveiled on 3 August 2009 and depicts Reksio, the main character from the animated series created by Lechosław Marszałek and produced at the Bielsko-Biała-based Studio Filmów Rysunkowych between 1967 and 1988. The bronze sculpture shows Reksio standing on his hind legs, with one front paw near his muzzle and the other pointing toward the fountain. An egg-shaped fountain divided into four parts is an integral part of the monument. The sculpture was made by Jerzy Mikler and cast in Wiesław Wojdak’s metal foundry.
