La mort de Dante
La mort de Dante is a bronze bust by Carlo Balboni (1860–1947) created as a tribute to the medieval Italian poet Dante Alighieri. It shows Dante Alighieri in bust form, holding his Divine Comedy in his arms. The monument was first installed in Parc La Fontaine in Montreal from 1922 to 1964. It was later moved to Parc Dante in the city’s Little Italy district. The same celebrated poet is also commemorated by another bust in Quebec, inspired by the same Balboni statue.
